NEWS FROM THE HEADMASTER

Student Art Festival and Thirtieth Anniversary Celebration

Wow, what a wonderful evening we experienced last Friday! The children’s art was amazing and beautifully displayed. A big thank you to Chris Tranter for her guidance and inspiration of our young artists. Thanks to Nicole Cormier, Bev Dunn, Laurel Carmichael, Susana Sobouti and Farahnaz Nosrati for assisting Chris Tranter in creating the beautiful display. One of the other highlights of the evening was the great dance sounds created by Beat Street. Thanks to parent Jay Walstrum and the other band members for the great sounds that had everyone up and dancing! Thanks also to Bev Dunn and the other parents who provided for our wonderful meal and manned the bar! A special happy birthday to St. Stephen’s! As I said that evening our school has been the beneficiary of a wonderfully supportive parent community over all those years. St. Stephen’s heart and soul has been the community of concern and caring that was part of the vision of founders, Sharyl Leggate and Sue Nielsen. St. Stephen’s has always been about the care and nurturing of our young people.

Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon
To show our appreciation for all that our parents do for our community we want to show a little gratitude with an international faire luncheon of Chicken Marsala, Greek Salad and garlic mashed potatoes. Please join us at noon in the school cafeteria on Friday, May 16. We would love to say thank you!
PLEASE RSVP to lauradetata@SaintStephensSchool.org

San Jose Skate Party on June 16 has been canceled. We have too many activities coming up in the month of May.

Summer camp news
St. Stephen’s is excited to offer another exciting summer of camp adventure!

Beginning June 23rd, weekly themed-based camps with off campus trips will be offered. New this year is that the camps will be divided into three groups:

  • 3 year-old through kindergarten
  • first through fourth
  • fifth through eighth

Activities will include: science experiments, cooking projects, team-building games, dramatic arts, scavenger hunts and art projects. Stop by the office if you need an additional brochure and don’t forget to tell your friends.

A reminder that eighth grade families will be preparing and selling lunches the last two weeks of school. There is no Nob Hill food service the last two weeks of school.
