The St. Stephen’s Extended Day Program is an optional service and is available from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Care is provided in a safe, structured environment that supports our overall mission and philosophy. Staffing is provided to divide the program into two age appropriate groups in separate but adjoining rooms. Staffing is also provided to support a separate four days a week study/homework period after school till 4:30. Different billing options exist from hourly charges to prepaid plans for various unlimited service.
After School Programs
Band - Intermediate and Beginning Band is offered after school for a fee for students in grades 4-8. Students are given opportunities for performances several times during the year.
Art & Music - Classroom instructors offer after school fee-based instruction in art and singing, and piano.
Martial Arts - Classroom instructors offer after school fee-based instruction
Chess - Classroom instructors offer after school fee-based instruction
Ballet - Classroom instructors offer after school fee-based instruction
Experiential and Enrichment Activities
The academic curriculum is enhanced by a number of traditional activities, one-time events, field trips, and community service projects. Special activities include 5th grade civil war days and pioneer days. Middle school students participate in trips to Williamsburg, Washington DC, and retreat experiences. Middle School students also participate in a health and character building program that is part of the weekly curriculum. Students address the following subjects: academic skill building; team building and self-identity issues, and a wellness curriculum for sound decision-making about sex, food, alcohol and drugs.
